Season 10 of Call of Duty: Mobile, titled Vault AU79, feels like a celebratory “greatest hits” album for the game. Released two weeks ago, the name itself is a clever nod to gold (AU is gold’s chemical symbol and 79 its atomic number), hinting that this season is all about the “golden” content of years past.
In fact, Activision outright calls it “the season of gold,” bringing back fan-favourite modes, weapons, and characters from across COD Mobile’s history. With the 6th anniversary of CODM just around the corner, Vault AU79 comes across as a thank-you to the community; a nostalgic trip mixed with fresh twists. It’s pure gold for both veteran players and newcomers looking to experience what makes COD Mobile special.

(Quick heads up: if you’re planning to grab the new Battle Pass or splurge on those shiny weapon skins, you can save some cash. The Carry1st Shop is running a 10% off promo on COD Points and Battle Pass purchases right now. It’s a good opportunity to top up your CP and get more bang for your buck.)
A Golden Throwback: Season 10 Overview
The whole season is built around nostalgia, bringing back classic maps with new twists, beloved game modes, and even retired cosmetics that players have been begging to see again. From intense nighttime firefights to goofy party modes, Season 10 offers a little something for everyone. The developers clearly dug into the vault (no pun intended) to pull out modes and content that defined COD Mobile over the years, polishing them up for this grand reunion season. If you’ve been playing CODM for a while, expect plenty of “I remember this!” moments. And if you’re newer, this is a great crash course on why so many of us fell in love with the game in the first place.
One thing immediately noticeable is how much variety this season packs in. It’s almost overwhelming; in a good way. You’ve got a rotation of returning multiplayer modes that shake up the usual pace, a chunky new Battle Pass loaded with goodies, special seasonal events (including a crossover we’ll talk about soon), and a store bursting with sought-after weapon draws.
After the spooky chaos of the previous Season 9 (with that wild Undertaker WWE crossover), Season 10 steps into the spotlight with a glimmering nostalgic sheen. Let’s break down all the big highlights so you know what to expect when you drop into Vault AU79.
Fan-Favourite Maps and Modes Are Back (with a Twist)
The multiplayer modes and maps in Vault AU79 are where the nostalgia really shines. COD Mobile is bringing back several fan-favourite modes from the past – some unchanged, others with new twists – and even introducing a new one. Here are the standout modes this season and why they’re worth checking out:
- Night Maps – Going Dark: Remember the thrill of night vision missions in past Call of Duty games? Now it’s in COD Mobile. Classic maps like Summit, Hackney Yard, and Crash get an after-dark makeover, and every operator spawns wearing NVGs (night vision goggles). Your world turns that eerie green as you rely on infrared outlines to spot enemies. It’s a tense, tactical change of pace – muzzle flashes and shadows can give away positions. If you’ve never played a night mode, expect heart-pounding encounters as you stalk enemies under the cover of darkness.
- The Club – Social Hub Returns: Need a break from the gunplay? The Club is back as the social hub where you can chill with other players in-between matches. This was one of the coolest non-combat features CODM introduced a while back, and I’m stoked it’s returned. You can roam in third-person, chat with NPCs or other players, and play various mini-games. Yes, you heard right – mini-games in COD! There’s a boxing ring for 1v1 fist-fights, an arcade-style bomb catching game called Kaboom, a dart board, a hoverboard obstacle course (Keep Jumping), a knife-edge game to test your reflexes, and even a new DJ booth with a dance floor. The Club is a refreshing way to unwind; sometimes you just want to vibe and socialize instead of sweating through matches. Plus, you can form parties for matches right from the Club, which is handy for teaming up.
- Ground War 12v12 – Large-Scale Battles: If you crave bigger battles, Ground War is making a grand return. This mode pits two teams of 12 against each other on large maps with multiple capture points and vehicles to drive. Think of it like an expanded Domination – there are six points to fight over, and the first team to 300 points wins (or instant win if your team manages to hold all six at once). Vehicles like motorcycles, ATVs, and tanks turn parts of the map into chaotic battlegrounds. Ground War brings that Battlefield-esque epic scale to COD Mobile, which is a nice change from the usual 5v5 skirmishes.
Pro tip: coordinate with your squad to capture distant points early; a well-timed bike flank can swing the match. It’s chaotic, fu,n and perfect for those who enjoy all-out warfare.
- Chase Mode – Parkour Racing: Here’s a new mode making its debut in the global version: Chase. It’s essentially a parkour race where players compete to reach the finish line on an obstacle course, no shooting involved. Imagine a first-person platformer: you’re sprinting, jumping between platforms, dodging traps, and trying not to fall off as a timer ticks down. It reminds me of those community-made parkour maps or even Fall Guys-style races, but set in CODM. It’s frantic and surprisingly challenging; one misstep and you have to respawn at a checkpoint. It’s also a nice test of your movement skills in-game. If you need a break from shooting and want to test your agility, give Chase a go. Finishing one of these courses had me feeling oddly proud.
- Big Head Blizzard – Crazy Power-ups: This goofy party mode returns just in time for the winter season. In Big Head Blizzard, as you rack up eliminations, your operator’s head gets… well, big. You gain power and new perks as your level increases. Eventually, maxing out transforms you into a hulking snowman-like boss with tons of health and only a melee weapon. It’s utterly ridiculous in the best way. Big Head mode is perfect when you don’t want anything too serious. It’s a fun way to let off steam (and who doesn’t want to become a snow monster, honestly?).
- Goliath Clash – Mech Battle: Ever wish you could pilot a mech in COD? Goliath Clash lets you do just that. This mode equips everyone in those Goliath mech suits for a Domination-style match. You fight over control points, and capturing one drops a battery power-up that you can use to upgrade your mech with new weapons or abilities mid-match. It’s like a high-tech twist on Domination – strategy meets sheer firepower. Stomping around in a mech suit, blasting other mechs, is as awesome as it sounds. Just be aware that even mechs have weaknesses; coordinated teams can still take you down if you wander off solo. Goliath Clash is a limited-time event, so definitely try it while it’s in rotation. It delivers that futuristic mech combat fantasy that you don’t normally get in a military shooter.
With all these modes rotating in and out, Season 10 ensures no chance of boredom. For me, this variety has made each login exciting, because there’s always something different to play each day. New players can sample many modes, and veterans get their favourites back.
New Seasonal Events and Challenges
Beyond the core maps and modes, Vault AU79 introduces special seasonal events that run alongside the main content. These events offer unique gameplay challenges and sweet rewards for participating. Here are the big ones this season:
- Girls’ Frontline Crossover Event: In an unexpected (but cool) collaboration, COD Mobile is teaming up with Girls’ Frontline, a popular tactical RPG. This event is an auto-shooter survival mode where you face waves of enemies from the Girls’ Frontline universe. Think of it like a PvE horde mode: you’ll fight through stages named City, Airport, and Icefield. Each run, you get random buffs or debuffs, so it has a rogue-lite vibe – no two attempts feel exactly the same. Beating all the stages can earn you special rewards, including three Epic weapon blueprints themed after the collab. Plus, it’s the first time Western CODM has this collab content, so it’s a treat for collectors. Free epic blueprints and a new gameplay mode? Yes, please.
- Thanksgiving & Other Themed Events: Season 10 covers the November period, so of course, we’re getting a Thanksgiving-themed event as well. The game’s event calendar mentions rewards like the Groza — Improvised Hazard assault rifle blueprint and LAPA — Thankful Gobbler SMG blueprint, plus an Iskra — Whitechapel operator skin. Expect some seasonal tasks like getting kills or wins during the holiday week to unlock these. In general, the devs hinted at other limited-time events throughout the season.
- Season 10 Challenge Pass: New this season is the Challenge Pass, an expanded seasonal challenge system. Here’s how it works: Throughout Season 10, you complete various missions categorised as Standard, Special, or Elite. Each completed mission grants you Tokens. You can then exchange those Tokens in a special Season 10 store for specific rewards. The highlighted prizes include the Zeyna – Battle Tradition operator skin, MX9 – Microcore Mortar weapon blueprint, a “Tough Guy” emote, and a “Time to Goo” charm.
If the Battle Pass items don’t excite you as much, the Challenge Pass rewards might. You can target what you want by saving up tokens, which feels rewarding. Make sure to check the Challenge Pass missions each week so you can maximise your token earnings. It’s free stuff for doing what you’re doing anyway: playing the game!
Vault AU79 Battle Pass – New Weapon & Glitzy Rewards
No new season is complete without a Battle Pass, and Vault AU79’s pass might be one of the most content-packed yet. It’s loaded with both free and premium rewards, including a brand-new functional weapon and a trove of golden, high-tech themed cosmetics. Here’s what you need to know about this season’s Battle Pass:
- Free Tiers (Highlights): All players can earn rewards just by playing and levelling up the free Battle Pass track. The crown jewel this time is the Einhorn Revolving Shotgun, unlocked at Tier 21. This shotgun is new to COD Mobile and is based on a real 19th-century design that uses a revolving cylinder like a revolver handgun (yes, such shotguns existed!). In-game, the Einhorn packs a punch and has a unique reload animation thanks to that revolver mechanism.
Free players also get a War Machine – “Watercolour Warrior” skin (a cosmetic variant for the War Machine grenade launcher scorestreak). It’s basically a skin for one of the scorestreak weapons, which is a nice little bonus to show off when you whip out the War Machine. Throughout the free tiers you’ll also pick up things like weapon camos, XP cards, credits, and notably Vault Coins. Vault Coins are a currency you can use in the Battle Pass Vault, which lets you redeem items from select past seasons’ Battle Passes. It’s worth collecting those coins if you missed older season goodies (more on the BP Vault shortly). Overall, the free track is generous – especially with a whole new gun in it. Even if you don’t buy the pass, make sure you play enough to grab that Einhorn shotgun. - Premium Tiers (Paid Pass Highlights): Purchasing the Premium Pass unlocks a ton of premium-tier rewards, which are typically more elaborate character skins and weapon blueprints. The Vault AU79 Premium Pass keeps a gold/tech theme going. You’ll immediately get an Atlas Corporation–themed operator skin when you buy it (the exact character skin might be Atlas – Lethal Liquidator, which sounds intimidatingly cool). There’s also Rosa – Cyber Specialist, another operator skin reward, giving off a slick, futuristic vibe. On the weapons side, the Premium pass includes the FFAR1 — Unerring Prototype blueprint (basically the FAMAS assault rifle) and an Einhorn Revolving — Calibrated Havoc blueprint. These are stylized, decked-out versions of the base guns – expect glowing accents, sci-fi details, maybe some custom muzzle flash or kill effect since the theme is high-tech prototyping. In addition, premium tiers have the usual extra goodies: a themed backpack skin, a fancy avatar or calling card, and more COD Points that actually help reimburse part of your purchase (if you complete the pass, you usually get about 300 CP back, which is nice). The “golden” aesthetic runs through these rewards, so your operators and guns will look like they just walked out of a secret lab coated in bling.
- Ground Forces Battle Pass Subscription: If you’re a hardcore player, there’s the Battle Pass Ground Forces subscription, which is a monthly sub that gives extra perks. Subscribing this season grants you an exclusive Domino – Spy Games operator skin, a DR-H – Machined Menace weapon blueprint (for the DR-H assault rifle), and a matching Backpack – Machined Menace. These have a mechanical, militaristic style. On top of those items, Ground Forces members get a 10% boost to XP (helps you level up faster) and some discounts on certain draws or crates. It’s essentially a VIP version of the Battle Pass for those who play daily and spend a bit. If you’re going to buy the pass anyway and you play a ton, the subscription’s little bonuses might be worth it for you.
- Battle Pass Vault (Going Dark Returns): A major player request has been to bring back old Battle Pass content, and the BP Vault system delivers. This season, they added the much-requested Season 12: Going Dark (from late 2020) into the Vault. That means if you missed that BP back then, you can now unlock items from it using those Vault Coins I mentioned. Going Dark was famous for its night-ops themed goodies, including Ghost – Jawbone and Price – Dead of Night operator skins, as well as the Black Gold weapon camo series. Those were pretty coveted, so it’s fantastic that new players get a shot at them now. The BP Vault is a welcome addition because it respects veteran players (by not just giving away old pass items for free) but still gives everyone a chance to earn or purchase them. So be sure to complete your Vault-themed missions and rack up those coins if you want to raid the Going Dark vault.
In short, the Vault AU79 Battle Pass is absolutely worth it, whether you go free or premium. Free players get a solid new weapon and some nice gear, and premium players get a trove of shiny new skins and blueprints to flaunt. The golden, high-tech theme makes the cosmetics feel special. From a value perspective, if you complete the premium pass, the amount of content and CP you get back is great for the cost. And if you’re planning to buy it or any CP, don’t forget you can grab them at a discount via the Carry1st Shop – save where you can, because the Store has a LOT of tempting stuff this season.
Store Update: Rerun Draws and New Goodies
Collectors and cosmetic enthusiasts, brace your wallets – the Season 10 store updates are wild. Vault AU79 not only debuts new Lucky Draws, but for the first time in CODM history, they’re rerunning old Mythic weapon draws that many players never thought would return. It’s a huge deal if you’re into high-end weapon skins. Here are the key store highlights:
- Mythic Weapon Reruns: Mythic-tier weapons are the ultra-rare, ultra-fancy guns with unique effects and upgradeable features. Previously, once a Mythic draw was gone, it was gone. Not anymore! Season 10 is bringing back two legendary Mythic draws: the Krig 6 — Ice Drake and the JAK-12 — Rising Ashes. These were originally released in past seasons and were super hard to get. Now they’re giving everyone another shot at them. If luck (and your budget) allow, you can pull these Mythics and even upgrade them up to level 5 to unlock exclusive kill effects and a special Mythic camo for maxing them out.
Fair warning: maxing a Mythic is really expensive (you basically have to obtain duplicate upgrade materials), so that chase is only for the most dedicated (or deep-pocketed) players. Besides those two, other Mythic drops will rotate back in as well – for example, the Rytec AMR — Nautilus sniper (with its undersea creature vibe), along with the matching Siren – Hydrodynamic operator from the Abyssal State draw, are confirmed to return. There’s speculation we might even see older Mythics like the Fennec – Ascended or AK-47 Radiance return later in the season. In short, it’s Mythic galore. This is fantastic for players who started later or missed those draws; just be careful not to empty your bank account chasing them. (It’s a good thing that 10% discount on CP exists; you might need it!)
- Girls’ Frontline Lucky Draws: Tied to the crossover event, we’re also getting two special Lucky Draws featuring characters from Girls’ Frontline. This is the first time the global/Western version of CODM has these anime-style operators, which is pretty exciting. The draws introduce Dusk – Otherworld Ensemble and Kestrel – Twilight Crescendo as new operator skins. They have a sci-fi, tactical anime look (think futuristic military with a touch of JRPG flair). Each of those operators comes with a matching Legendary weapon: Dusk’s draw has the M4 — Jupiter Cannon and Kestrel’s draw includes the ICR-1 — Wisterian Visage, both with neon, high-tech designs straight out of a sci-fi world.
Keep in mind, Lucky Draws are essentially gacha – you might get the grand prize on first pull, or you might have to go to 10 pulls, with costs increasing each time. So again, budget accordingly or use some discounted CP if you’re going for these.
- Other New Draws: The season doesn’t stop there – two more Lucky Draws are on the roadmap. One is a post-apocalyptic themed draw starring Wicht Warden – Pestilence (sounds like a Plague Doctor vibe or something from a wasteland). The other draw features Rin – Yoshida: Augmented Eclipse. Rin is a relatively new character in CODM lore, and “Augmented Eclipse” sounds super cybernetic. So that draw should appeal to fans of futuristic aesthetics, possibly with neon visuals on the weapon blueprint. Each of these draws, as usual, will include other items like emotes, vehicle skins, etc., but the marquee items are the operator and weapon. For collectors, these are more unique themes to consider.
Final Thoughts: Vault AU79 is COD Mobile’s Victory Lap
After spending a good amount of time with Season 10 – Vault AU79, I can confidently say this is one of the most content-rich and enjoyable seasons in Call of Duty: Mobile to date. It strikes a great balance between nostalgia and novelty. On one hand, we’re revisiting beloved experiences: flipping down night vision goggles on classic maps, partying in The Club like it’s 2021.
On the other hand, we’ve got completely new additions like the Einhorn shotgun, the parkour Chase Mode, and an unprecedented Girls’ Frontline crossover spicing things up. For the average player, this means there’s a ton to do and something to fit every mood. And of course, the Battle Pass gives a constant sense of progression as you play any of these.
If you were feeling a bit burnt out in previous seasons, Vault AU79 might be the refresher you need. It’s an excellent time for lapsed players to come back and for new players to hop in as well.
As we gear up for the 6th anniversary next season, Season 10 serves as a grand “thank you” to the community and a victory lap for how far the game has come. It reminds us of the highlights from each year of CODM, all while keeping things fresh with new content. So gear up, grab those NV goggles, and hit the battlefield; the Vault is open and full of treasure.
