Call of Duty: Mobile is gearing up for Season 10 – “Vault AU79”, and it’s pure gold.

No, literally – the whole theme is about gold and the “best of the best” from past seasons making a comeback. We’re just one season away from COD:M’s 6th anniversary, and as a lead-up, the devs are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the community. Season 10 is bringing back fan-favorite modes, classic maps with a twist, a shiny new Battle Pass loaded with goodies, and some of the most sought-after weapon skins ever.

If you’re a COD Mobile enthusiast (like me), this season looks like a greatest hits album remixed with fresh content. So, here’s everything you need to know to get hyped for Vault AU79.

(Quick heads up: If you’re planning to grab the new Battle Pass or some cool skins, Carry1st has a 10% discount promo on COD Points and Battle Pass purchases right now. You might want to snag that deal and gear up for the season without burning a hole in your wallet.)

A Season of Gold: Theme and Overview

Season 10 is dubbed Vault AU79 – AU being the chemical symbol for gold, and 79 its atomic number (chemistry class paying off!). The theme is essentially “the golden vault of nostalgia.” The developers are celebrating the game’s upcoming anniversary by bringing back a bunch of fan-favorite content from over the years, almost like opening a vault of greatest hits. Expect to see modes you loved in the past reappear, popular characters and weapon skins returning, and some old features given new life. It’s a season dedicated to the community, almost like a thank-you for sticking around.

The season officially launches on November 5 at 5 PM PT globally. So, mark your calendars – from that date, you’ll be able to update your app and dive into all the new (and returning) content.

One highlight: they’re re-running some of the most famous Mythic weapon draws (those uber-rare, fancified weapon skins with unique effects). If you missed them the first time, this is your chance to try your luck again. The Mythic Krig 6 – Ice Drake? JAK-12 – Rising Ashes? Yes and yes, they’re coming back (more on that in the Store section below).

Now, let’s break down the goodies by category: maps and modes, events, the Battle Pass, and store updates.

The Best of Maps and Modes (Night Maps, Anyone?)

Vault AU79 is injecting variety into the gameplay by rotating in some special modes and features that players have been craving. Here’s what’s on deck:

  • Night Maps – Go Dark: Remember those intense night vision goggle missions from the Modern Warfare series? COD Mobile is bringing night modes back. Summit, Hackney Yard, and Crash will now have nighttime versions where everyone spawns with NVGs (night vision goggles). Your view through NVGs is that greenish tint with infrared highlights. It’s a whole different vibe – you’re scanning for heat signatures and movement instead of relying on bright colors. This “Going Dark” mode was a fan-favorite in the past, and it really ups the tension. Sneaking around in the dark, trying not to give away your position with muzzle flash… get ready for some heart-pounding moments.

  • The Club – Social Hub Returns: The Club is back! If you weren’t around when The Club was in the game, it’s basically a social space/lobby where players can walk around in third-person, chat, interact with NPCs, and play mini-games. Yes, COD Mobile has mini-games. In The Club, you can do things like a boxing mini-game (face off against another player in a simple fist-fight simulator), dance on the dance floor (complete with a DJ booth where you can choose music tracks), play darts, or even a whack-a-mole style bomb catching game called Kaboom (catch bombs in a bucket). It’s a fun way to chill between matches, meet random players, and even pick up some small rewards. Plus, you can queue for matches with others directly from The Club. It’s nice to see it return – sometimes you need a break from shooting and just want to vibe.

  • Ground War 12v12 – Large-Scale Battles: Ground War mode makes a comeback this season, and that means big teams (12 vs 12), big maps, and vehicles! Ground War is similar to Domination but on a larger scale – there are six capture points scattered around a large map (think areas from Battle Royale maps repurposed). Teams fight to hold these points and reach 300 points to win. And yes, you can drive vehicles: tanks, ATVs, motorcycles. If one team manages to cap all six points at once, it’s an instant win (total domination). Ground War was super popular when it was last out because it brings that Battlefield-esque feel to CODM. It’s chaotic, it’s strategic, and it’s a nice change of pace from the usual 5v5 fare. Pro-tip: hop on a bike or ATV with a buddy and blitz to the far capture points early on for a surprise advantage.

  • Chase Mode – Parkour Race: This is a brand new mode (at least in global CODM) called Chase Mode. Imagine a parkour obstacle course where you and others compete to reach the finish line. No shooting here – it’s all about movement. You’ll be jumping across platforms, dodging traps, and trying not to fall. It’s time-limited, so if you don’t complete it within the time limit, you'll lose. It’s like those Roblox obstacle courses or Fall Guys levels, but within COD Mobile’s engine. This mode is just pure fun and a test of your finesse with the controls.

  • Big Head Blizzard – Party Mode Mayhem: Big Head mode returns with a winter twist. In Big Head Blizzard, as you rack up kills, your character’s head grows larger and larger (yes, physically big, like a balloon!). As your head inflates, you also gain additional perks or power – essentially becoming stronger. At max level, you transform into a “snow beast” – this giant, melee-only monster with tons of health. When someone becomes the snow beast, they’re a huge target (giant head, hello?) but they can also smash enemies real good. It’s a goofy, over-the-top mode where the playing field keeps changing as players power up. Plus, the winter theme just makes it a timely inclusion. It’s not a mode to take seriously – it’s pure casual, silly fun and great for some laughs with friends.

  • Goliath Clash – Mech Suit Domination: Ever wish CODM was more like a mech game? Goliath Clash is essentially a mode where everyone is in a Goliath mech suit and you duke it out. It’s 5v5 (like Domination) with capture points, but you’re clunking around in these big suits with heavy weapons. Capturing a point drops a battery, which you can pick up to upgrade your mech – giving you new weapons or abilities (like maybe a jump or a shield). It’s kind of like a Titanfall-lite. This mode was around once before and it was pretty intense – positioning and timing your upgrades is key. Because if the enemy team levels up their mechs faster, they can steamroll. If you haven’t tried it, give it a go; it’s wildly different from normal play, in a good way.

That’s a hefty lineup of modes. The great thing is these modes typically rotate weekly or are available for limited times during the season. So the boredom never sets in – one week you’re sneaking in Night mode, next you’re boxing in The Club, then you’re racing in Chase Mode. It really feels like the devs want Season 10 to have something for everyone.

New Seasonal Events

Beyond the modes, event challenges are coming, with themes and rewards:

  • Girls’ Frontline Crossover Event: COD Mobile is collaborating with Girls’ Frontline, a popular tactical RPG featuring android “T-Dolls”. The event is an auto-shooter survival mode. From the description, it sounds like a PvE mode where you face waves of enemies from the Girls’ Frontline universe. As you progress through stages (City, Airport, Icefield – presumably different maps/levels), you get random buffs or debuffs, so each run feels a bit different (rogue-lite vibes).

Beating all the levels will let you recruit some characters (maybe themed soldiers or allies) and earn three Epic weapon blueprints as rewards. The fact that CODM is bringing in a collab event means special themed skins or items too – likely the blueprints are guns styled like Girls’ Frontline stuff. If you’re into that game or just enjoy PvE content, this should be a nice side activity. And hey, free epic blueprints are always welcome.

  • Thanksgiving & Other Seasonal Events: The notes mention rewards like the Groza – Improvised Hazard and LAPA – Thankful Gobbler weapon skins, and an Iskra – Whitechapel operator skin from seasonal challenges. So we can expect a Thanksgiving event (hence the turkey-themed “Thankful Gobbler” for the LAPA SMG). There will be probably some grindy tasks like “kill X enemies with assault rifles” or “win 10 matches in any mode” during the Thanksgiving period to unlock those. Additionally, they teased “other themed events” – possibly something for Veterans Day or just general autumn season.

  • Challenge Pass (New Seasonal Challenge System): Something called the Season 10 Challenge Pass is mentioned; a new way to track seasonal challenge progress. By completing standard, special, and elite missions throughout the season, you earn tokens. Those tokens can be exchanged in a new “Challenge Pass Exchange” store for specific items – notably a Zeyna – Battle Tradition operator skin, an MX9 – Microcore Mortar weapon blueprint, a “Tough Guy” emote, and a “Time to Goo” charm. Essentially, it’s like an extended seasonal challenge that runs the whole season, separate from the Battle Pass. Finish enough challenges, get tokens, and pick the reward you want most. I actually like this system, as it gives a clear target. So even if you’re not into the regular Battle Pass, playing events can earn you some cool cosmetics.

Battle Pass: Free Gun & Golden Skins

No new season is complete without a Battle Pass, and Vault AU79’s pass is brimming with sci-fi and gold-themed loot. Here’s what to expect:

Free Tier Highlights

At Tier 21 (usually where new weapons drop in CODM passes), you’ll get the Einhorn Revolving Shotgun for free. This is a brand new shotgun to COD Mobile, originally from Call of Duty: Vanguard on console/PC. It’s a beastly shotgun that uses a revolving cylinder (think old-school revolver pistol, but as a shotgun – yes, it exists in real life from the 1800s!).

Expect decent power and a unique reload. If you like shotguns, this one will be fun to play with. Along the free track you’ll also earn a new Scorestreak: a skin for the War Machine launcher called Watercolor Warrior. Scorestreak skins are cosmetic, but it’s nice to deck out killstreaks too. Of course, there are the usual freebies like weapon camos, credits, weapon XP, etc., but notably they said Vault Coins are in the pass. Vault Coins are used to redeem items from past Battle Passes in the new BP Vault system – very handy if you missed old stuff. So even free players get a shot at some older content via those coins.

Premium Pass (Paid) Highlights

Buying the Premium Pass will unlock all the premium tiers where the juicy stuff is:

  • Themed Operator Skins: This season’s characters have an Atlas Corporation sci-fi vibe (Atlas was a faction in Advanced Warfare). Skins include Atlas – Lethal Liquidator and Rosa – Cyber Specialist. Expect futuristic armor, maybe glowing visors – the preview art looked slick and high-tech.

  • Premium Weapon Blueprints: The headliners are the FFAR1 – Unerring Prototype (FFAR is basically the FAMAS AR from Cold War) and a decked-out blueprint for the new Einhorn shotgun called Einhorn Revolving – Calibrated Havoc. If you’ve seen mythic or legendary blueprints, these probably aren’t at that level, but they’ll be cool designs likely with some animated elements given the “prototype” naming.

  • Other cosmetics: Calling cards, avatars, and maybe a backpack or vehicle skin, all following that golden/high-tech theme.

If you join the Ground Forces subscription (that monthly Battle Pass subscription), this season’s bonus is a Domino – Spy Games operator skin, a DR-H – Machined Menace blueprint (DR-H is a solid AR, likely this skin has a robotic look), and a matching Backpack – Machined Menace. Plus the usual bonus of 10% XP boost and some CP rebates on crates. Ground Forces is for those who spend on CODM regularly; if that’s you, it’s a decent value.

Also important: They’ve mentioned a Battle Pass Vault update. Specifically, Season 12: Going Dark (from 2020) is being added to the Vault. That BP had the iconic Ghost – Jawbone and Price – Dead of Night operator skins, along with the Black Gold weapon camo series. If you have Vault coins (from this pass or events), you can now unlock that old BP’s items. A lot of people missed out on that one, so this is a chance to reclaim Ghost Jawbone etc. Very nice.

Store Updates: Mythic Reruns and New Lucky Draws

The in-game store/gacha is going to be lit (RIP wallet, for some):

  • Mythic Weapon Reruns: For the first time, CODM is re-running old Mythic Draws. They confirmed the Krig 6 – Ice Drake (which is this sick dragon-themed gun that literally has a dragon’s head on it and ice effects) and the JAK-12 – Rising Ashes (fiery phoenix-themed automatic shotgun). These were originally super exclusive, with Mythic rarity meaning you could upgrade them to add special attachments, kill effects, and even unique completionist camos at max level. If you missed these, they’ll appear again for a limited time in Season 10. They even said if you manage to get both and upgrade each to level 5, you unlock a special exclusive Mythic camo for each weapon. (That’s extremely pricey to do, by the way, so only for the hardcore collectors).

Additionally, they mentioned other Mythic drops returning through the season: like the Rytec AMR – Nautilus sniper (which had a deep-sea creature vibe) from the Abyssal State draw along with its matching Siren character skin. Possibly more – maybe the first ever mythic, the Fennec – Ascended, or the AK47 Radiance? We’ll see as they announce, but point is – mythics galore.

  • Girls’ Frontline Lucky Draws: Tied in with the crossover, there will be two lucky draws that introduce new characters from Girls’ Frontline. The characters are Dusk – Otherworld Ensemble and Kestrel – Twilight Crescendo. They’re likely original designs from the collab, styled like operators in CODM. Each comes with a Legendary weapon: one is a Legendary M4 – Jupiter Cannon and the other an ICR-1 – Wisterian Visage. The theme sounds sci-fi or mecha (those names!). It’s the first time Western/Global CODM gets these anime-esque collab skins, so I’m curious to see how players react. If you’re into that aesthetic, these will be must-haves. If not, at least they’ll be interesting targets on the battlefield.

  • 2025 World Championship Draw: COD Mobile’s World Championship finals are happening Nov 7-9, and to celebrate, there’s a special Championship-themed draw. We don’t have all details, but expect a skin for a popular gun and maybe a fancy championship-themed operator or camo (possibly regional team colors or something with the 2025 logo). It’s a way to commemorate the competitive scene – which has been pretty exciting this year. Even if you’re not into the draw, don’t miss watching the finals; usually they give out some free rewards for watching via YouTube or the in-game viewer.

  • Other New Draws: Two more draws were teased:

    • One is “post-apocalyptic” featuring an operator named Wicht Warden – Pestilence. That sounds like a plague-themed or toxic wasteland kind of skin. And it’ll have a matching legendary gun. Given the theme Pestilence (like one of the four horsemen of apocalypse), I’m guessing maybe a sick-looking green/black aesthetic.

    • The other draw is led by Rin – Yoshida, Augmented Eclipse. Rin is a character (recently new in CODM) and “Augmented Eclipse” suggests a cyberpunk or high-tech dark theme. So, another legendary gun with a futuristic style likely in that draw.

  • In short: lots of reasons to save up those COD Points or better yet, take advantage of that Carry1st discount to get more bang for your buck on CP. With so many draws and reruns, it’s going to be a temptation-filled season for cosmetic collectors.

Final Thoughts: Get Ready to Vault Up

Season 10 – Vault AU79 is shaping up to be one of the most content-rich seasons of COD Mobile to date. It’s equal parts nostalgia and novelty. On one hand, we’re revisiting beloved modes like Night maps and Ground War and grabbing at Mythics we thought we’d never see again. On the other hand, we have new toys like the Einhorn shotgun, Chase Mode, and collab characters spicing things up.

For the average player, this means there’s a ton to do: casual modes for fun, competitive modes to grind, events to unlock free stuff, and a shiny new Battle Pass to progress through. If you felt a bit of fatigue in previous seasons, Vault AU79 might just be the refresher you need. I’m personally excited to try hard in those night maps (nothing like the thrill of using night vision and seeing tracer rounds whip by in the dark).

As always, make sure your app is updated when the season drops on Nov 5. And don’t forget to claim any leftover rewards from the current season before it ends. You don’t want to miss out on anything that might be expiring.

One more tip: This season’s theme is about revisiting old favorites – it’s a good time for lapsed players to come back. If you have friends who took a break from CODM, ping them to return; they might find some of the things they loved waiting for them in the vault.

Stay frosty (or rather, stay golden)!
