Now the big question: which guns and loadouts should you bring into the Carry1st Africa Cup? Below, we’ll highlight the meta-defining weapons of CODM Season 4 (because it’s the most recent update) and provide example loadouts tailored for high-level play. These recommendations blend raw weapon strength with the utility needed in team tournaments (think ammo capacity, silence for S&D, etc.).

Meta Weapons to Watch (Season 4)

Several guns have risen to the top this season that every competitor should be familiar with:

  • USS 9 (SMG): The #1 meta weapon this season. Essentially an Uzi Pro SMG, the USS 9 boasts an insane fire rate and superb damage, to the point it competes with rifles at medium range. It’s been lightly nerfed (a bit less accurate at range after patch) but still dominant. A USS 9 user can shred enemies in close quarters and still 3-shot at mid-range (perfect for aggressive slayers).

    • Attachment tip: Equip a Monolithic Suppressor and 32-round .41 AE mag to maximize its lethality while staying off the mini-map.

  • DR-H (AR): A longtime favorite assault rifle that remains top-tier. The DR-H’s ability to 3-shot kill consistently across most ranges makes it deadly and easy to use. Its recoil is moderate and manageable. This rifle shines in nearly any mode, offering dependable damage for an AR player.

    • Attachment tip: Use the exclusive 25 Round OTM mag for maximum damage and a Tactical Suppressor for stealth. This combo keeps the DR-H lethal and hidden – ideal for Search & Destroy flanks or anchoring Hardpoints without constantly pinging the radar.

  • HVK-30 (AR): Another powerful AR that delivers extremely fast kill times thanks to a large caliber ammo attachment (makes it a 2–3 shot kill). The HVK has great handling and is excellent for aggressive rifle play. It did not get nerfed this season, so it’s as strong as ever. Many top fraggers favor the HVK for its blend of mobility and power.

    • Attachment tip: Attach the Large Caliber Ammo and maybe Sleight of Hand perk for faster reloads, since that mag is only 24 rounds. With a suppressor and OWC Marksman barrel, the HVK becomes a laser at mid-range with stealth.

  • Type 63 (Marksman): The dark horse of Season 4. This semi-automatic marksman rifle is basically a pseudo-sniper: one headshot = one kill at any range, and two body shots down an enemy fast. Skilled players using the Type 63 can hold long lines of sight (like Crossfire or Scrapyard) and eliminate enemies before they can react. In competitive play, a Type 63 can serve the role of a sniper but with faster handling. If you have the accuracy, this is a game-changer.

    • Attachment tip: Use attachments that maximize stability (to hit those first two shots). A tactical scope or 3X can help with longer sightlines, and an extended mag is recommended – you don’t want to run dry in a crucial moment.

  • LW3 Tundra (Sniper): The premier sniper rifle this season. The Tundra boasts high damage and bullet velocity, making it extremely reliable for one-shot kills. In Season 4 it remains the top pick for sniper mains; even after a slight nerf to a magazine attachment, it’s still dominant. On maps or modes where a single pick can swing the round (S&D especially), a Tundra in the hands of your best sniper is a must.

    • Attachment tip: Go with the meta build: 28.2″ Tiger Team barrel, 7-round mag, and Airborne Elastic Wrap (for faster ADS). Also consider a suppressor on S&D to stay hidden after firing.

  • Fennec (SMG): The Fennec remains a close-range monster. Its insane fire rate can melt targets up close. While it’s edged out by USS 9 and CX-9 in versatility, a Fennec user who closes the gap will win gunfights in the blink of an eye. It’s a high-risk, high-reward pick (due to very fast ammo consumption and recoil), but in the hands of a confident rusher, it’s devastating for close quarters or objective rushes.

    • Attachment tip: Equip Extended Mag and attachments for recoil control (Operator Foregrip, etc.), because controlling the Fennec’s kick is key. A laser (OWC Tactical) helps with sprint-to-fire for those sudden corner fights.

Of course, there are other viable guns (QQ9, M13, Holger LMG, etc.), but the ones above are defining the Season 4 meta across ranked and competitive play. Now, let’s translate these into concrete loadouts you can use.

Recommended Competitive Loadouts (Season 4)

Below are some optimized loadouts geared for Africa Cup’s team-based matches. Each includes a primary weapon (with key attachments), a secondary, perks, and the role or scenario it excels in. Use these as starting points and tweak to your preference/team needs.

Aggressive SMG Rusher

If you’re the first one flying into a hill or rushing into a Domination flag, you’ll want to run the USS 9 SMG. Go with the Monolithic Suppressor, 13.1″ Barrel, .41 AE 32-Round Mag, and Granulated Grip. It keeps you off the radar, gives you excellent mid-range reach for an SMG, and shreds in close-range fights.

Pair it with a fast-swapping MW11 pistol as your secondary. For perks, use Lightweight to move faster, Quick Fix for fast health regen after each kill, and Dead Silence to stay stealthy while flanking. Operator Skills like Kinetic Armor or Shadow Blade can help you survive longer pushes into objectives. This is your go-to loadout for breaking Hardpoints and rushing S&D bomb sites.

AR Slayer (All-Purpose)

For a more flexible role that works on almost any map, the DR-H is still a top-tier rifle. Use attachments like the OWC Ranger Barrel, Tactical Suppressor, 25 Round OTM Mag, No Stock, and Granulated Grip. You’ll get solid damage with manageable recoil, perfect for mid-range slaying or locking down power positions.

Equip a .50 GS Desert Eagle as your secondary – it hits hard in a pinch. Perk setup should include Flak Jacket to survive nades, Toughness to reduce flinch during gunfights, and Dead Silence to stay sneaky. Operator Skills like the Annihilator (especially with its Season 4 buff) or Purifier give you both range and area control. This is a balanced loadout you can flex between support and aggression, depending on how the match plays out.

Sniper Overwatch

For players holding long angles or making opening picks in Search & Destroy, the LW3 Tundra is still the top pick. Build it with a Tactical Suppressor, the 28.2″ Tiger Team Barrel, a 7-Round Mag, Airborne Elastic Wrap, and FMJ (if allowed for wallbangs). This setup gives you faster ADS, strong bullet velocity, and consistent one-shot potential.

Your secondary can be the J358 revolver, or a knife if you’re prioritizing movement. Run Lightweight to reposition faster, Toughness to stay accurate under pressure, and Alert (or Awareness) to hear nearby footsteps. Operator Skills like Sparrow or War Machine are solid options for when you’re not sniping. With this role, your job is more than just landing shots – it's about calling enemy positions and forcing the other team to play slower.

Breacher (Overkill Loadout)

This one’s for the player who storms the objective and clears space for the team. With the Overkill Wildcard (check if allowed in Africa Cup rules), you can run two primaries: the HVK-30 and R9-0 shotgun.

Use Large Caliber ammo on the HVK-30 for quick 2–3 shot kills at range, and build the R9-0 with an Extended Barrel and a laser for hipfire consistency in tight spaces. You won’t have a secondary since you’re already running two mains.

Your perks here should include Flak Jacket for explosive resistance, Quick Fix to keep you alive through trades, and Dead Silence to get into enemy territory quietly. Gravity Spikes is the Operator Skill you’ll want to use – perfect for clearing stacked Hardpoints or bomb sites. This setup is built for high-pressure situations where your squad needs someone to crack the defense open.

The USS 9 (Uzi Pro) is still considered the king of Season 4’s meta, thanks to its blistering time-to-kill and versatility across close and mid-range – a must-have in any aggressive player’s arsenal.

Feel free to customize these loadouts based on team roles. For instance, you might have one player run a smoke grenade (for S&D cover plants) while another carries a trophy system (to defend Hardpoints from grenades). Generally, at least one Trophy System is essential in competitive play, as it can save your team from cluster grenades or Predators on a hardpoint.

Communication is very crucial: coordinate your perk choices (for instance, have a mix of Flak Jacket and Tactical Mask across the team to ensure someone can survive various threats) and operator skills (don’t stack two of the same specialist if one will do; variety can help; one Annihilator user and one running say, Kinetic Armor, gives you both offensive and defensive tools).

Finally…

Keep an eye on gentlemen’s agreements (GAs) or specific tournament bans. Sometimes the competitive community bans certain items (e.g., overly RNG ones or very OP combos). Make sure your loadouts comply with the Africa Cup’s rules (which likely follow the official CODM Competitive ruleset). For example, War Machine or certain tactical equipment might be restricted.

Always check the official rules provided to make sure you and your team aren’t violating any restrictions. Good luck!
