It’s spooky szn!

Season 9: Midnight Rumble is almost here, and from all intents and purposes, it’s packing plenty of scares and surprises. The official preview teases a season of scares; fan-favourite spooky maps like Haunted Hacienda, Attack of the Undead, Hordepoint, and even a night version of Isolated are all returning.

But that’s just the start. We’re also getting a wild WWE crossover in multiplayer! On top of that, the new Battle Pass hooks you up with the Sten SMG and even a Chopper Gunner scorestreak variant, plus a fresh Sentry Gun skin (the “Steadygun”). Premium tiers unlock Halloween-style operator skins and some nasty blueprints for weapons like the Fennec — Glorious Grudge, XM4 — Magmatic Disruptor, and even the Sten — Divine Ventilation. There’s surely a lot to look forward to! Let’s break down the biggest new Season 9 features.

Black & Gold: Road to the 6th Anniversary

Season 9 kicks off a three-season “Black & Gold” celebration leading to Call of Duty: Mobile’s 6th anniversary. Season 9 is all about the Black theme (a return of the spookiest, fan-favorite maps, modes, operators and weapons) before flipping to Gold in Season 10 with even fresher drops. All this is building toward a big Season 11 finale. In other words, expect Midnight Rumble to lay the groundwork for a huge birthday bash later this year.

WWE Collaboration & Limited-Time Mode

This season throws WWE into the mix with a brand-new LTM. Everybody drops into the map with boxing gloves (“Prizefighters”) to brawl up close. Nail a kill streak and bam, you transform into The Undertaker (complete with over-the-top finishing moves and extra health). Players are already hyped that Alexa Bliss is tagged into this mode, too. It’s a crazy mashup of wrestling and shooting (imagine body-slamming enemies on a map!). As a life-long fan of pro wrestling, I can say this mode is sure to deliver some hilarious and epic moments.

Halloween-Themed Maps & Modes

  • Haunted Hacienda: The classic Hacienda map gets a spooky makeover; ghost ships drop anchor at the shore, jack-o’-lanterns and creatures hide around every corner. The whole estate is decked out in Halloween décor, so keep your wits as you fight through the shadows.

  • Night Falls on Isolated: For the first time ever, the leafy island map Isolated is played in the dead of night. The sun goes down and visibility drops to zero, so bring night-vision gear (or hope you have sharp eyes) in this eerie dark.

  • Attack of the Undead: The zombie mode returns with a spin, and here, one random player in a matchup starts as a monster and runs loose hunting everyone else. Any survivor turned into a zombie joins the monster team, so the horde grows until the timer runs out. Will you survive the zombie hunt?

  • Hordepoint: This objective mode gets a Halloween twist. Waves of regular and elite zombies swarm the capture point, and slaying them grants team buffs (like extra health, speed, or even temporary zombie summons). It’s a frantic fight for the point as the undead close in.

Midnight Rumble Battle Pass & Premium Items

The new Battle Pass brings plenty to grind for. Free tiers award the Sten SMG (a classic WWII gun with a side-mounted magazine) and a fresh Sentry Gun – Steadygun scorestreak variant, plus calling cards, Vault Coins and more. The Premium Pass delivers the big thrills: jack-o’-lantern themed operator skins like Ajax – Insanely Jacked and Seraph – Witch’s Holiday, along with wicked weapon blueprints.

Premium blueprints include the Fennec — Glorious Grudge, the XM4 — Magmatic Disruptor, and even a special blueprint for the new Sten. Fans who want to grab these goodies fast may want to stock up on CP so they can dive into the Premium tiers right away. Seasonal Events & Free Rewards

  • WWE Event: Complete wrestling-themed tasks to earn Entry Tickets, then play mini-games for Smackdown Points. You’ll cash in those points for milestone prizes – including a CR-56 AMAX – Furious Finisher weapon blueprint and the Minotaur – Fractured Fiend operator skin. It’s a fun way to get some guaranteed legendaries for free.

  • Rock Rampage: Jam out to unlock a free legendary blueprint. Collect Power Chords during matches to fill the event bar – hit milestones and you score the FFAR – Shredder legendary blueprint, plus a bunch of other goodies. There’s also a new Secret Cache that contains the RPD – Road Mongrel blueprint.

  • Candy Mini-Games: In mid-season, watch for a candy-collection event leading into Halloween. Gather Candy by playing MP and BR modes, then spend it on spooky mini-games. Rewards include the QXR – Prankster’s Sidepiece weapon blueprint and more secret cache prizes. It’s a lighthearted event sure to earn you some fun gear.

Mythic Draws and Halloween Armory

A slew of new draws and returning blueprints will hit the store in this new season. Here’s a quick run-through:

  • Deepstar Wraith Mythic Draw: Features the new Mythic Type 25 – Deepstar Piercer (a jagged midnight-colored rifle) along with the matching Deepstar Assassin operator skin.

  • WWE Draws: Two WWE-themed draws drop fighting-themed weapon skins. One pairs Alexa Bliss with the CX9 – Sugarsweet Screamer and Man-O-War – Velvet Grudge blueprints; the other pairs Undertaker with the Kilo 141 – Skull Screamer and USS 9 – Rageful Reckoning blueprints.

  • Halloween Series Armory: Brings back fan-favorite legendary blueprints you might have missed. Now you can grab blueprints like M4 – Court Jester, Holger 26 – Jacked Lantern, AK-47 – Pumpkin Head, and Maddox – Squash Demon again.

  • Good vs Evil Draws: Two opposite-themed draws let you play light or dark. The “light” draw gives the Sparrowhawk – Eminent Savior skin and AK117 – Molting Mauler blueprint, while the “dark” draw offers Samael – War skin and M4 – Shackle’s Bite blueprint.

Battle Pass Vault Returns

We’re getting the return of a fan-favourite feature! Midnight Preview will host two past Battle Pass streams returning to the Vault.

  • Season 9 – Graveyard Shift (Haunted): Operator skins like Portnova – Funny Bone, Misty – In the Spirit, and Witch Doctor – Lethal Cure return, along with epic blueprints (e.g. Kilo 141 – Rex Mortem, CR-56 AMAX – Final Testament, CX-9 – Deathly Light).

  • Season 13 – Winter War (Cold): Includes frost-themed skins like Ghost – Dark Vision, Adler – Mountain Drab, and Golem – Siberia, plus epic weapon blueprints (e.g. GKS – Pack Warrior, RUS 79U – Troika, Peacekeeper MK2 – Blast Off).

These vault rewards give everyone another shot at hard-to-get gear from past seasons.
