Call of Duty Mobile Season 9: Midnight Rumble launched on October 1, 2025, and it brings a spooky twist and an unexpected tag-team partner to the battlefield. This season isn’t just about ghosts and ghouls; it's also about stepping into the ring with WWE wrestling superstars!

For both casual fans and hardcore Call of Duty vets,  Season 9 delivers a thrilling experience for everyone. We have haunted maps that will send chills down your spine, fan-favorite zombie modes making a comeback, and even The Undertaker himself dropping into the action. Grab your gear and get ready: we’re about to dive into everything Call of Duty Mobile offers this season, from the Halloween frights to the heavyweight fights.

Haunted Maps and Fan-Favorite Modes Return

Nothing says October in Call of Duty Mobile like Halloween-themed battlegrounds. Midnight Rumble brings back some spine-tingling fan favorites that older players will remember and new players will find delightfully eerie. The Hacienda map gets a full Halloween makeover as “Haunted Hacienda.”

Picture a lavish Spanish estate under a full moon, now overrun with jack-o’-lanterns, flickering ghostly apparitions, and even a creepy fleet of ghost ships docked just off the shoreline. It’s the same beloved Hacienda layout from Black Ops 4 days, but with a dark twist; veterans will appreciate the nostalgia, and newcomers can enjoy the spooky atmosphere without feeling lost. Keep your head on a swivel; the decorations are fun, but an enemy could be lurking in those shadows!

Season 9 also plunges the battle royale map Isolated into darkness. For the first time since 2020, Isolated has a night mode, forcing Operators to face each other in the dead of night. The limited visibility in nighttime BR dramatically changes the pace; you can’t rely on long sightlines, so you’ll need to adjust your loadouts and tactics.

Casual players might find it intense at first, but don’t worry: stick close to cover, use your class abilities wisely (Scout and Mechanic classes, for example, shine in the dark), and you’ll survive till dawn. Meanwhile, experienced BR grinders are loving the tactical depth the darkness adds. It’s a nostalgic callback for long-time CODM fans who remember the original night battles, and it provides a fresh challenge for everyone.

On the multiplayer side, two fan-favorite modes have clawed their way out of the grave for the Halloween season: Attack of the Undead and Hordepoint. If you haven’t tried these before, here’s the lowdown. Attack of the Undead starts with one random player turned into a super-fast zombie, hunting the remaining team. Each Operator that gets taken down joins the undead horde until either one survivor makes it to the time limit or the infection spreads to everyone. The tension is real – imagine the panic as your squad’s numbers dwindle and the undead players multiply!

Veteran players will recall the adrenaline of this mode from past events; new players will quickly learn that teamwork and a steady trigger finger are the keys to surviving the onslaught. Hordepoint, on the other hand, takes the chaos of Hardpoint and mixes in AI-controlled zombies. Teams still fight to control the Hardpoint hill, but now you’ve got waves of undead rushing in too. Taking down zombies isn’t just for survival; it actually gives your team bonus perks like increased health and speed, or even the ability to summon a pair of exploding zombie helpers. It’s frantic, it’s funny, and it’s a great way for casual players to rack up some extra points while hardcore players optimize their zombie-killing sprees for maximum buffs.

Wrestling Superstars Enter the Fray

In a crossover we never saw coming, Season 9’s WWE collaboration brings the world of wrestling into COD Mobile. Yes, you read that right: you can actually become wrestling legends like The Undertaker or Alexa Bliss in the middle of a firefight. This mashup arrives as a new limited-time mode called “Step Into the Ring.”

Here’s how it works: every player spawns empty-handed except for a pair of Prizefighters boxing gloves. The match quickly turns into a punch-up and close-quarters brawl. If you manage to rack up a hot streak of takedowns with those fists (or any weapons you scavenge), your Operator literally transforms into a WWE Superstar. Suddenly, you’re stomping around as The Undertaker, complete with his signature black hat and trench coat, or dishing out dropkicks as the ever-feisty Alexa Bliss.

Turning into a wrestling legend isn’t just for looks; it comes with gameplay perks too. Once you’ve transformed, you gain extra health (you’re tougher, like a champ in the ring) and unlock special Finishing Moves that let you take down enemies with flashy wrestling-style attacks from any direction. Imagine body-slamming an opponent in a Call of Duty match; it’s as wild and fun as it sounds. The WWE mode only lasts for a limited time, so be sure to give it a try while it’s live.

The WWE theme doesn’t stop at the mode. Throughout Midnight Rumble, there’s a special WWE-themed event and even exclusive store draws. The WWE Event in the seasonal challenges requires you to complete objectives to earn “Entry Tickets” and “Smackdown Points.” It sounds like a lot of jargon, but essentially, by playing matches (multiplayer or BR), you collect tickets that you use in a mini-game interface (picture a little wrestling arcade game). Playing those mini-games gives you Smackdown Points, which you redeem for exclusive rewards. The milestone prizes here are awesome for collectors and free-to-play grinders alike: you can unlock a CR-56 AMAX — Furious Finisher assault rifle blueprint (decked out with wrestling flair) and a menacing Minotaur — Fractured Fiend operator skin.

So even if you’re not spending money, jumping into the WWE event can net you some cool permanent gear just by playing and completing tasks.

For those willing to spend some COD Points, two special WWE Lucky Draws are in the store as well. These are like raffle spins where you can win premium items. One draw features Alexa Bliss; if luck is on your side, you could get her operator skin and a matching Legendary CX-9 SMG “Sugarsweet Screamer” that looks as fierce as her persona. The other draw stars The Undertaker, offering his iconic undead-themed operator skin alongside a Legendary Kilo 141 “Skull Screamer” assault rifle. These are purely cosmetic, but let’s be honest: running around the map as The Undertaker with a skull-emblazoned rifle is a flex that wrestling fans and COD veterans can both appreciate.

Midnight Rumble Battle Pass – Tricks and Treats

No new season is complete without a stacked Battle Pass, and Midnight Rumble doesn’t disappoint. Whether you’re a free player or springing for the Premium Pass, there’s plenty to unwrap. First off, free tier highlights: at Tier 21 of the Battle Pass, all players unlock the brand-new Sten SMG. This is a classic World War II submachine gun making its debut in COD Mobile, and it’s a treat for gun enthusiasts. The Sten is instantly recognizable thanks to its side-mounted magazine, but how does it perform in-game? Pretty impressively, it turns out. The Sten boasts a very fast fire rate and solid damage in close quarters. In fact, skilled players are already discovering that if you land a headshot or two, the Sten can achieve one of the fastest kill-times of any SMG in the game. In other words, this thing melts opponents up close, provided you can control its recoil and aim high. For more casual players, don’t worry – even if you’re not beaming headshots every time, the Sten is fun and forgiving to use. It has great mobility for run-and-gun play, and just feels satisfying to spray with. Best of all, it’s free for everyone; just by playing and leveling up your pass, you’ll add this SMG to your arsenal without spending a dime.

Another free unlock in the pass is the Sentry Gun – Steadygun Scorestreak (unlocked at Tier 14). This is essentially a slick new skin for the Sentry Gun turret you can call in after racking up points. Functionally, it works like the standard automated Sentry turret (it locks onto enemies and opens fire to hold an area), but this variant has a steadier, high-tech look that matches the season’s style. It’s a nice little bonus for free players to customize their scorestreaks.

Besides that, the free tiers also include plenty of other goodies like weapon camos, a spooky-themed parachute, and even some extra COD Points. In fact, if you complete the whole free pass, you earn enough COD Points to potentially grab next season’s Premium Pass for free.

Now, the Premium Pass is where the real party starts for cosmetics. Purchasing the Premium Battle Pass opens up a vault of Halloween exclusives. The operator skins this season are top-notch. Ajax — Insanely Jacked is a muscular, shirtless juggernaut painted up like a jack-o’-lantern come to life. It’s hilarious and intimidating at the same time – you’ll definitely stand out in the lobby with his glowing pumpkin head and bulging, vine-covered muscles. Seraph — Witch’s Holiday offers a sharp contrast, dressing the deadly Seraph in a stylish witch outfit complete with a pointed hat and gothic accessories. These character skins don’t give any gameplay advantage, but they let you show off your Halloween spirit (and your grind) in every match.

The Premium Pass also delivers four epic weapon blueprints that fit the spooky season vibe. The Fennec — Glorious Grudge is an SMG blueprint wreathed in ghostly green flames; enemies will know they got taken out by someone with style. The XM4 — Magmatic Disruptor turns the reliable XM4 assault rifle into a molten lava beast, with crackling orange lava veins. And we can’t forget the Battle Pass’s crown jewel blueprint: Sten — Divine Ventilation, a decked-out version of the new Sten SMG with holy glowing accents and a vintage-meets-fantasy design. These blueprints not only look cool, but some come with unique attachment setups that give you a head start on a great loadout. For example, the Sten Divine Ventilation’s attachments are tuned for aggressive hip-fire play, so you can equip it straight away and shred without needing to fiddle in Gunsmith.

One more perk for Premium Pass users: if you enlist in the Ground Forces subscription (a monthly Battle Pass subscription for dedicated players), you get extra rewards and boosts. Season 9’s Ground Forces bundle includes the Rivas — The Boss operator skin, the NA-45 — Dawnfire Repeater blueprint (a sniper rifle with a fiery new look that matches Rivas’s style), and a Vicious Dawn backpack to tie it all together. Ground Forces members also enjoy a 10% boost to all XP (player and weapon leveling) and some discount coupons for store crates. It’s a neat option if you play daily and love collecting the monthly exclusive gear.

Seasonal Events and Free Rewards Galore

Rock Rampage is another major event running this season, perfect for those who love a bit of rock ’n’ roll with their gunplay. The premise is simple: by playing matches and completing specific tasks, you collect Power Chords (imagine guitar pick icons). Rack up enough Power Chords and you’ll unlock the grand prize: a Legendary FFAR 1 — Shredder blueprint. Yes, a free Legendary weapon skin! The FFAR Shredder blueprint looks awesome with its red-and-black heavy metal motif, and the FFAR 1 itself is a beastly fast-firing assault rifle. It’s pretty rare for COD Mobile to give out a Legendary-tier gun for free, so this event is a must-do. Rock Rampage also has a dozen other rewards along the way – from emblems and frames to an epic knife skin – so even if you’re a casual player, it’s worth jumping in and claiming what you can.

There’s another nifty addition this season. By completing certain challenges, you can earn Secret Cache tokens that act like keys to unlock special rewards. One of the coolest freebies up for grabs through a Secret Cache this season is the RPD — Road Mongrel LMG, which is actually another Legendary blueprint. The RPD is a powerhouse light machine gun, and the Road Mongrel skin gives it a post-apocalyptic, biker-gang vibe (we’re talking flame decals, spikes, and a whole lot of attitude). It’s pretty wild that two Legendary gun skins (the FFAR and the RPD) are earnable for free in one season.

Finally, a new feature called the Season 9 Challenge Pass has been introduced. Think of this as a season-long challenge track separate from the Battle Pass. By completing sets of Standard, Special, and Elite missions, you earn special tokens that you can exchange in a new Challenge Exchange store for goodies. Notable items you can claim include a funky Concussion Grenade – Rugged skin (a cosmetic variant for your grenade, making it look like it’s wrapped in gritty duct tape) and the Grau 5.56 — Skyward Scorcher blueprint. For context, the Grau 5.56 is a fan-favorite assault rifle known for its accuracy (veterans from Modern Warfare will remember its laserbeam precision), and the Skyward Scorcher skin gives it a fiery, sky-blue flame design. These challenge pass rewards cater to the more dedicated players since you’ll have to knock out a bunch of missions to afford them, but at least it gives the hardcore crowd something extra to chase beyond the usual fare.

New Gear in the Store

If collecting skins is your thing, Midnight Rumble has a treasure trove of new draws and store goodies beyond the WWE tie-ins. The biggest headliner is the latest Mythic Weapon Draw. This season introduces the Type 25 — Deepstar Piercer Mythic blueprint. Mythic guns are the rarest, most elaborately designed weapons in CODM, and the Deepstar Piercer is no exception. Picture the Type 25 assault rifle transformed into a nightmarish, angular beast colored midnight-black with glowing blue runes; it even emanates an eerie mist as if forged from stardust. This is the gun for those who want to make a statement every time they get a kill. The same draw also contains the Tiangu — Deepstar Assassin operator skin, a legendary-tier character that looks like a futuristic wraith, perfectly matching the Mythic’s dark cosmic theme. Other items in this draw round out the sci-fi horror vibe: a PPSh-41 — Deepstar SMG, a Thumper — Deepstar grenade launcher, a cool-looking Thermal Shock skin for the Trophy System, plus a Deepstar-themed helicopter skin, parachute, and weapon charms. Keep in mind, Mythic Draws are pricey – each pull costs a chunk of CP and the odds of nabbing the Mythic on your first few tries are low. It’s the kind of offering aimed at the most dedicated (or lucky) collectors. Even if you don’t plan to spend on it, it’s fun to see these wild designs and maybe encounter someone in-game wielding this terrifying contraption.

Beyond Mythics, the store also has some seasonal flair. The Halloween Series Armory is making a return, which is great news if you missed out on previous years’ Halloween skins. Essentially, the Armory lets players acquire popular Halloween-themed weapon blueprints from past seasons, usually through crates or direct purchase bundles. Some fan-favorite Legendaries coming back include the M4 — Court Jester, the Holger 26 — Jacked Lantern LMG, the AK-47 — Pumpkin Head, and the Maddox — Squash Demon (a newer assault rifle decked out in a gnarly pumpkin-demon design). If you’re a newer player, this is a fantastic chance to snag some of the coolest spooky skins from past Halloweens without having been there at the time. And veterans who regret missing a certain skin in 2021 or 2022 get a second shot at them now.

Additionally, Season 9 features two contrasting cosmetic draws dubbed “Good vs. Evil.” The “Good” draw includes the Sparrowhawk — Eminent Savior operator skin, which dresses your soldier like a valiant golden-armored angel, and an AK117 — Molting Mauler blueprint that has a bright, heroic phoenix-like design. The “Evil” draw, conversely, offers a dark, devilish Samael — War operator skin (Samael is literally a name for a demon of war, so that checks out) along with an M4 — Shackle’s Bite blueprint that looks like it was pulled from the depths of the underworld (complete with chains and a sinister red-black finish).

Finally, one of the coolest additions for longtime players is the expanded Battle Pass Vault. Two entire past Battle Passes are being re-released via the Vault system in Season 9. Specifically, Season 9 — Graveyard Shift (from a previous year) and Season 13 — Winter War are available again to purchase and progress. This means if you missed those seasons, you can now buy the Vault version of the pass and grind through it at your own pace to unlock all its content. Graveyard Shift was another Halloween-themed pass from a couple of years back, featuring operators like Portnova — Funny Bone (a female operator in a full skeleton suit), Misty — In the Spirit (a fan-favorite from Zombies lore dressed in spooky attire), and Witch Doctor — Lethal Cure, along with eerie weapon skins like the Kilo 141 — Rex Mortem (which gives the gun a dinosaur skeleton look), CR-56 AMAX — Final Testament, and CX-9 — Deathly Light SMG. Winter War, on the other hand, brings back some icy military style with Ghost — Dark Vision and other winter-camouflage operators, plus cold-themed blueprints like GKS — Pack Warrior, RUS-79U — Troika, and Peacekeeper MK2 — Blast Off.

Should You Play Midnight Rumble?

Absolutely! Call of Duty Mobile Season 9: Midnight Rumble is shaping up to be one of the most entertaining seasons yet. It masterfully balances playful holiday-themed content with meaningful gameplay additions. If you’re a casual player or new to the game, this season offers a perfect entry point: you get a free powerful SMG (the Sten) just for playing, fun events that let you earn Legendary weapons without spending any money, and a limited-time mode in Step Into the Ring that’s pure chaotic fun.

For the hardcore COD veterans, there’s plenty of depth to sink your teeth into; the Sten adds a new wrinkle to the multiplayer meta (could it dethrone the QQ9 or CBR4 as the top SMG? time will tell), the night mode in Battle Royale brings back a classic challenge that rewards map knowledge and strategy, and of course the collection of new Mythic and Legendary gear gives you plenty to chase if you’re a completionist or just love showing off rare items.

The Halloween vibes, the WWE crossover, and the anniversary buildup combined make Midnight Rumble feel like a celebration of all the things that make COD Mobile special.

In the end, Season 9: Midnight Rumble gets a big thumbs up. It’s got something for everyone without overwhelming anyone. So squad up, drop into Haunted Hacienda or Isolated at midnight, and embrace the chaos. Enjoy the Midnight Rumble!
